Solubility: Soluble in water (1g/5mL) and ethanol, slightly soluble in ether and chloroform
Stability: Stable to heat, but easily decomposed by light, unstable in alkaline solution
Appreance: White to slightly yellow crystals or crystalline powder

Vitamin B6 participates in various metabolic processes in the form of pyridoxal phosphate (PLP):

  • Amino acid metabolism: As a coenzyme for transaminase, decarboxylase, etc., it participates in neurotransmitter synthesis
  • Heme synthesis: catalyzing the synthesis of δ - aminolevulinic acid
  • Glycogen metabolism: involved in glycogen phosphorylase reaction
  • Deficiency syndrome: can lead to seborrheic dermatitis, peripheral neuropathy, and small cell anemia
  • Clinical application: Treatment of pregnancy vomiting, premenstrual syndrome, and peripheral neuropathy caused by certain drugs
