Vitamin B12

Other names: Cyanocobalamin
Chemical formula: C₆₃H₈₈CoN₁₄O₁₄P
Solubility: Slightly soluble in water (1g/80mL), insoluble in organic solvents, decomposed in strong acids and alkalis
Stability: Stable to heat (sterilized at 120℃ for 20 minutes without damage), but easily inactivated by light, oxidants and reducing agents
Appreance: Dark red crystals or crystalline powder (aqueous solution is red)

  • Hematopoietic function: promotes red blood cell maturation, deficiency leads to megaloblastic anemia
